After months of speculation SAFA and Stanton Woodrush have finally reached an amicable agreement and have chosen to keep the national side’s nickname Bafana Bafana.
The federation now owns the exclusive rights to the national team’s name.
The chairman of the adhock team committee Danny Jordaan, announced that the two parties have agreed to the terms saying, "The agreement says that for R5 million we will, as SAFA, own the rights to the name Bafana Bafana. We are very very happy to announce that SAFA will fully exploit the name Bafana Bafana.
"As SAFA, we are glad that the negotiations went very well and that is why we reached this agreement. We know there were many price tags in the media but we could not go with that and hence we involved ourselves in the willing buyer and willing seller negotiations.
"Since February we have been in these fruitful negotiations and today (Friday) we announce this important and good news that SAFA now owns the name and rights to the name Bafana Bafana. We are all happy now," Jordan concluded
